19 Aug 2010

Buying men's shirts online may now be a common practice for males, as a new study has revealed they spend more time using technology than their female counterparts.

Research by Ofcom showed 25 per cent of men use their mobile phones to browse online, compared with 21 per cent of the opposite sex.

Furthermore, males are guilty of spending more of their time in front of televisions, computers and other media - an average of seven hours and 33 minutes per day.

On the other hand, females used technology of this kind for just six hours and 38 minutes.

Wearing short sleeve shirts could be advisable if guys wish to surf the net without distraction.

Commenting on the data, partner at Ofcom Peter Phillips said: "For the first time we can see just how central media and communications are to our lives - on average we use them for nearly half our waking hours."

The organisation recently stated that Welsh consumers in particular are becoming more tech-savvy, with a marked increase in broadband and mobile take-up in recent years.
