1 Sep 2010

Male celebrities looked stylish at this weekend's Emmys, with many choosing classic suits and men's single cuff shirts for the occasion.

The awards ceremony honours some of the most critically acclaimed and popular shows on US television, with Mad Men and Glee among the winners this year.

Stars including True Blood's Stephen Moyer and Mad Men's Jon Hamm both opted for crisp white men's shirts, teamed with an Alexander McQueen and Armani tux respectively.

Mad Men picked up the outstanding drama series gong for the third year in a row, making it one of the most successful serials of all time.

The show, which is set in New York during the 1960s within the world of advertising executives, has also had a significant effect on fashion trends, with its male characters featured looking dapper in suits and hats, while the female cast favours curve-hugging frocks.

Meanwhile, Glee won four Emmys, but lost the best comedy prize to Modern Family.
