Is Ferdinand inspired by men's shirts?

4 Aug 2010

It would seem that men's shirts, trousers, suits and shoes are among the things that Rio Ferdinand feels the most creative passion about.

So much so that the England captain and Manchester United player has turned his hand to designing, launching his own footwear collection for Strutt Couture.

With a range of smart and casual styles that could compliment everything from easy-going short sleeve shirts and jeans to suits for the office, Ferdinand has named the line Five after his shirt number.

According to the Daily Mail, the launch shows that the footballer has been putting his summer to good use, after being forced to miss out on the World Cup due to injury.

"I'm always looking for opportunities to expand my interests outside of football and fashion is a passion of mine," he said.

For any future collections, Ferdinand may wish to look to his Manchester United strip for inspiration, after research reported in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General and published by the American Psychological Association revealed that women are attracted to men who wear red.
