Is a clean shave and short sleeve shirts the key to summertime cool?

Guys look for a quick and easy way to update their look have been advised to have a shave this summer - while short sleeve shirts could also help them to stay cool as the mercury rises.

AskMen UK editor Andrew Lubega said that facial hair is generally seen as more of a winter accessory as when the sun is out men want to feel as clean and comfortable as possible.

He pointed to celebrities such as Russell Brand and Brad Pitt, both of whom after a long period sporting a beard have ditched it for the summer.

Both have lost the fluff for movie roles.

"While we're accustomed to seeing Russell Brand sporting a lot of facial hair, as he demonstrates, it's good to change up your look a bit just to keep things fresh, particularly when the sun comes out to play," Mr Lubega explained.

Keeping cool may be the main motivation behind the style males adopt during the warmest months of the year - which could see them spending more time in light men's shirts and smart shorts.
