Neon men's shirts 'should be left at home'

Neon men's shirts are garments that guys should leave hanging in their wardrobes at home when they are packing for a holiday, it has been claimed.

According to recent research conducted for Heathrow airport by the TV presenter and fashion journalist Louise Roe, 80s-inspired clothing and T-shirts featuring large slogans are among the garments that may work well on the catwalk, but are unlikely to prove as stylish on vacation.

Meanwhile, Crocs - which according to the Daily Mail are a favourite brand of Jack Nicholson - should also be left out of the suitcase, along with bumbags, ankle socks and mesh tops.

Ms Roe said: "The secret to looking and feeling great on your summer holiday is to keep it simple."

She added that high fashion garments are unlikely to translate well into real life.

Instead, guys may prefer to choose simple yet stylish cotton shirts and shorts to wear during their holiday.

Timothy Barber, writing for City AM, recently claimed that a linen suit is one outfit that will see guys through the summer, as it is a classic.
