The arrival of a new Six Nationa iPhone app could be the ideal pre-game warm up for the smartly dressed fan of mens shirts and international rugby union. With less than 24 hours until the start of the 2012 Six Nations rugby tournament, sponsor RBS has unveiled a new interactive in-game app for the tournament. The new smartphone addition is likely to prove popular with fans keen to indulge in a sports-focused Saturday this weekend. After all, for many Saturday morning represents a time to blow off some much needed steam from a week of working stress with a game of rugby. Amateur teams up and down the UK meet up for the weekly occurance, with 30 men lining up for a game. The end of the game brings with it the usual ritual too, with players traditionally donning a fine mens shirts and ties for a post-game drink. This is likely to now be enhanced by the start of the Six Nations tournament with players decamping to pubs across the land for an afternoon of fun. The new app, which is available on the iPhone could be the perfect accompaniment, with smart phones easily place in the top pocket of most cotton shirts to accessible fun. In these instances, rugby fans will be able to access the RBS 6 Nations Live Challenge app a whole 40 minutes before kickoff, with pre-game questions and real-time challenges on offer. As the game progresses, fans will be tasked with predicted the outcomes of conversions, penalties, line outs and scrums with points then awarded for correct answers. The new app could well see these shirt wearing fans engaged in yet further competition for the top score, further enhancing the day’s experience. This new app is also likely to prove popular for those travelling to the likes of Murrayfield and Twickenham for the big games themselves too. Commenting on the new app, an RBS spokesperson said: "The exciting new rugby app puts fans at the centre of the action throughout the Championship." "Rugby fans can play against their mates (via logging in through Facebook) or against all users, competing to get their name at the top of the leader board."
