Should guys pose in best party shirts to find Facebook love?

While some guys may hope that profile pictures of them dressed in party shirts and an interesting online biography could help them to find love, one expert has claimed the internet can also be good for finding out more about potential dates.

Paula Hall, relationship psychotherapist for Relate, said it is "inevitable" that people will scope each other out if they meet on a social networking site such as Facebook.

She added: "[Facebook] provides such a good way of getting to know each other in a non-awkward kind of way because you haven't got that face-to-face element of it and so you can get to know each other more."

While posing in their best men's shirts may help guys to find admirers online, they could also use the site to look for any ladies who share their interests and passions.

However, film star Drew Barrymore recently told Marie Claire that looking for love online may have taken some of the mystery out of dating, claiming that she would not want to meet a man in such a way as she considered herself a "romantic".
